About Tom Mach
  "Writing a novel is the ultimate trip,” Tom Mach says, “especially when I get so
involved with a character I feel as if I’ve lived in her skin.” Tom won the J. Donald
Coffin Memorial Book Award for
Sissy!, two other awards for his second novel, All Parts
Together, a
nd an Editor’s Choice Award from the International Library of Poetry after
writing
The Uni Verse. Prior to writing books, he wrote hundreds of articles for such
publications as
Writer’s Digest, Woman’s Day, Jack & Jill, and many others—as well as a
short story that appeared in
Stamp World.
   A former editor of South Bay Accent magazine in California and Software Supermarket
in Ohio, Tom is active in the Kansas Authors Club and was past president of two
branches of the California Writers Club. In addition, he taught advertising copywriting
at San Jose State University and is a requested speaker for organizations such as
schools, churches, libraries, and fraternal clubs. He was also a paid presenter for a
workshop on writing historical fiction at the East of Eden Writers Conference and gave
a writing workshop on fiction writing for Kansas University's Adult Education
Department. He is working on his latest novel. His poetry is found in anthologies and
published in newspapers. He has two adult children, Mark and Michelle, and lives with
his wife Virginia in Lawrence, Kansas.
